 Montalbo Nursery and Primary School is a small school situated on the fringe of the rural market town of Barnard Castle.
The Nursery is a 39 place unit offering morning, afternoon or all day sessions in line with our Flexible entitlement policy.
School has 92 pupils on roll. We pride ourselves on being a friendly approachable school where everyone matters. We believe that every child, parent and staff member is a unique individual with many skills and personal qualities from whom we can all learn or benefit.

Our new school sign designed by pupils picks up our logo of the white mountain and uses the phrase ‘climbing to success’. We truly believe that everyone who enters our school can and will achieve, will be successful and can make a difference to others.
Academic progress is valued and important however Montalbo is about more than that. We want all our pupils to be able to communicate effectively with each other and members of the community. We believe they should be happy and confident members of society, skilful and well able to reach out to the wider world in order to change lives for the better.
