All children receive an end of year summary of their attainments in Reading, Writing and Maths.
The summary sheet indicates where your child is against age related expectation and targets are set for the end of the next academic year. Progress towards these targets will be carefully monitored on a half termly basis which can be discussed at Parent’s Evenings.
Targets are there to help every child recognise where they are currently working within National Curriculum levels and what they need to do to attain higher levels. The theme is “munching through your targets”.
Nursery are focussing on Personal, Social & Emotional Steps. In School Literacy & Numeracy skills are to the fore.
At Parents’ Evening find out what level your child is currently working at and what their next steps are. Ask to see their Records of Achievement and Pupil Profiles too.
Intervention Strategies
At the beginning and the end of each term we review all pupils work to ascertain those who have met their targets and those who have not.
Intervention programmes are used to help pupils or to deal with specific learning difficulties, language delay, motor skill problems and attention or memory skills.
Programmes are designed to meet pupil needs and are carefully monitored. They are delivered by our support staff who report back to class teachers.
If your child has not met set targets, rest assured that throughout the academic year help will be provided.
